Fascinating! When either my daughter or I are ailing, our cat, Gabriel, will come and stay beside us, offering himself to be petted and purring for a long time. Perhaps he knows that he can help heal us.

Well, I knew this. Diva, no deceased, sat on my chest when I was recovering from chemo and purred loudly. She knew it too.

YES – I knew about the lowering blood pressure thing. May I add – it helps against lighter fits of depression, too!
Kitty magic truly works. I have had times of not being able to sleep, SamCat sits in my lap, purring. Before I know it, I am lulled to sweet sleep.
I have often thought that I am healthier when I have a cat. It’s good to read the science.
